During a fantastic family weekend, we visited Swanage in Dorset. Staying at Norden Farm Campsite was a great choice; only a stone's throw from Corfe Castle. During our stay, I got to swim in the sea from Middle Beach, which had loads of disabled parking bays but wasn't really accessible for wheelchair users. There are ways to make life easier if you want to access the beach. However, you would require help and a plan to get you across the sand. I had the added bonus of using my Cross County Wheelchair wheels and my Freewheel All Terrain Add-On. I still required some help to get on and off the sand.
Whilst I was swimming I spotted 'The Pig on the Beach', a rather exclusive restaurant, although we didn't get to eat there on this occasion. My wife and I have eaten at The Pig in the New Forest; it was such a treat.
I got to try out a new tow float which I have been after for a while; the Tow Donut is a highly visible tow float swim buoy with a waist strap and an integrated dry bag pouch. The small dry bag sits in the centre of the 'doughnut', out of the water, and is perfect for small items such as car keys and your phone. I found the tow float perfect for what I wanted; I stored my GoPro in the tow float it was easy to access when I needed it.
